How come you here a wissping sound coming out of the center speaker when you turn it up loud is this because of the VCR or is it the speaker (the reason Im asking is because I just recently paid alot of money for a good cneter speaker ( 140w ) and when NOTE: when I listen to CD's I never run in to this problem it only happens when it on the VCR. IF possible could you please help me with my problem by offering some suggestions on what might be the problem. The VCR is a 4 head. I have gold tipped connectors for connecting the VCR to the reciever The center speaker has two drivers and one tweeter the cones are not paper they look really glossy. Thanks

I heard how you can check them is to get a sound reader from Radio Shack and measure the decibels coming out of the spe YOUR WEB PAGE RULES!!!!!!!!!! IT'S THE BEST ONE OUT THERE THANKS

I too have triplets. There names are Trenton, Dana, and Austin. Obviously they are three little boys, 27 months old and still growing strong. Aren't triplets a miracle to have? My boys are my little miracles, the doctors said that they would never stand a chance because they were born after only 26 weeks. But we showed them. I loved seeing other triplets, keep up the encouraging work.

Philip Thanks for the reply. Yes I am most impressed with my Citation 7.0 it is with out doubt the best processor I have heard even though I have yet to get my digital citation 7.5 (soon I hope.) As most people should know Jim Fosgate is a WIZ. I also have a AVP1A we will put that in the master bedroom along with the VPF40HD. What else will you change in the new theater besides your 900 to a 980. Will the theme be the same? What size room ? Will you get it drawn up if so by whom ? I to will be building a large theater which is proving to be a drama ( where do you stop ). I am looking at stacking two prjectors but am finding that some people think that it is not a good reliable way to go. In nov 95 I went to the infocomm in singapore to look at the Vision 1 which looks superb. This will be the projector we will get and maybe stack. I have seen a 4 way aspect controlled masking system which looked interesting don by proline entertainment systems in MN. It will all go into a room about 20 metre long by 15 metre wide room with 10 metre ceiling height. I guess by adding some more JBl 4465 subs into more bridged NAD208 I may fill the room with thunder as we do in our smaller room now.Let me know what you tlink about the result of your subs under your seats and in the ceiling? How did you go on the WOW Rattle test??? We will get some one in the US to do our drawings as long as I can stop adding things? In the new room we will also run side as well to fill in the sonic gap caused by room length. My concern is to keep the picture big & bright and the sound scary cause I love movies!!!!!! How do you find your Runco performance wise? What kind of RTA did you use to do your EQ? Will you be looking at Runco's Quadrupler? The biggest problem I find with a large projection screen is that the aspect ratios of laser disc are all over the place and you get problems with borders.I hope that they can start putting all intros in the aspect ratio of the movie that you are about to watch to stop it jumping off my screen. Any captioning should also be should be done on the picture not on the letterbox blanking. Sorry about the gripes maybe we will get some of this in DVD? I run a theater at home whitch is not to bad we are updating all the time. I'm looking to by DVD when it comes out and I need to know if my home theater will be able to handle it, Im not rich so its not that good, anyway here is what I have. 1) 37 inch T.V (High Resolution) (S-VIDEO) it basically has that works 2) Pioneer pro logic reciever running 60w to front and center and 20 to back. 3) 150w sub woofer 4) For speakers I have 100watt speakers for the two front and 85w speaker for the center and 100w speakers for the rear.(all speakers can handle more than the reciever so I dont have to worry about blowing them!!! 5) I have 12 g speaker wire 6) all my speakers are also on stands I would like you to tell me if this home theater is okay and if it is OKAY for DVD? THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP AND I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU.

It looks like you've done a great job with your theater. I'd like to know more about the design of the room itself, any problems that had to be overcome and how you chose the components. I also have an original lobby poster of the Star Wars picture that you show in 3 sizes. It is smaller than a normal single sheet poster, but is an original nontheless. If you're interested in it let me know. Can you tell what my E-mail "handle" means? Hope to hear from you. Dan

Nice home theater! Being the meager age of 19 (and relatively broke) its hard to assemble a home theater. Q: does the shape of the room have a big effect on sound (a rectangular room with a 4-5 foot indent)?

Impressive! I'm a little curious about the subwoofers in the ceiling. If you get a chance, please let me know how the enclosure works. From the pictures, it looks as if one set of ports should cancel (at least partially) the other set of ports. You have obviously done your homework on equipment and placement. And although the scanned pics probably don't do it justice, I'm impressed with the finish of everything I can see. What is the shiney(sp?) material that you have used for a valence? Great look. I no- ticed the theatre style seating. I was going to use the same in my room but I am going to go with the Elran cinema furn- iture instead. Was the theatre style chosen, so the room could accomodate a large number of people? Thanx, AL. P.S. I'll be back (no pun intended to Arnie) when I get a SVGA monitor.

I would watch for any upcoming DTS products(i.e. processors, laserdiscs, and CDs). Supposidly, DTS is a better sounding system than AC-3 and utilizes the PCM digital tracks on LDs and CDs(so there is much less compression). The data stream would be put through the digital outputs on LD or CD players. DVDs would support DTS on their PCM tracks. As for my opinion about DVDs, I think even though LDs are far from perfect, they will surpass DVDs in at least one area: there are almost no motion artifacts on LDs, not so on DVDs(the picture gets gittery as objects move across the screen because of the MPEG-2 compression). My advice is to stick with LDs as long as possible until new discs come out supporting true HDTV specs. Why buy into DVDs now and then have to replace them soon after when HDTV is the norm? If you'd like to talk more about home theater stuff, please contact me on e-mail. =)
